The legalization of new form to use special knowledge in the Criminal Procedure Law of Mongolia

In order to solve the criminal case with scientific base, it is crucial to implement proper practice of law and regulation on how to use special knowledge during the criminal investigation process. According to the Criminal Procedure Law (CPL) that came into force since July 01, 2017, in addition to including and appointing a forensic
expert and receive the expert’s report during the investigation process, an investigator with special knowledge is authorized to do a primary examination and forensic analysis on the traces, evidence and other crime scene evidence. This addition to the law legalized the regulation of new way to use a special knowledge. Therefore, through this paper we will study what is the definition of the investigator’s report, what issues the investigator’s report will be able to solve, and how these solved issues will benefit the crime investigation procedure.
